Meamande Wamukwamba is a Zambian lawyer, philanthropist, and human rights activist dedicated to amplifying the voices of creatives and protecting their freedom to tell their stories and earn from them. With over 11 years of experience in corporate advisory, intellectual property, public interest litigation and community development, Meamande is a powerhouse activist working at the intersection of creative expression, commercial law and social justice.

Meamande holds an LLB degree, an MBA in Organizational Leadership, is an Advocate of the Superior Courts of Zambia and a Commissioner of Oaths. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Movement for Economic and Social Development in Africa (MESDA), an organisation established to advance social and economic development in Africa primarily through fostered collaboration between government, civil society and businesses. Through MESDA and in personal capacity, she provides extensive support to creatives to ensure that they enhance their creative assets, strategically protect their artistic freedom and harness their potential for economic growth.
Beyond practice, Meamande is an active voice in the entertainment industry, a creative herself who, prior to joining legal practice, worked in the music sector providing backing vocals for several prominent Zambian artists. Outside of her humanitarian and legal work, Meamande loves to travel and explore African culture and destinations. She also enjoys music and a bit of art.
