Oghenetega Ayobami Adedipe is a seasoned lawyer specialising in entertainment and sports law, with a strong focus on music, sports law, and the broader creative economy. He advises creatives, brands, artists, athletes, and media companies on music clearances, publishing, recording, live performances, distribution, licensing, and brand representation, with a practice guided by structure, simplicity, and intentionality. He is an alumni Adeleke University and the Music Business Academy for Africa. He has experience with high-profile deals within the creative economy. He has worked on album clearances, movie projects, live event performances, publishing deals, brand endorsements, influencer deals, music businesses and distribution deals for leading African artists, producers and creatives where he ensured their rights, royalties, and agreements were properly drafted.
He also provides legal advisory services to media professionals, production companies, and content creators, ensuring that their work is protected and compliant across various platforms. His support covers contracts, licensing, distribution, and deal structuring across film, television, digital, and broader content media. He worked in the legal team of Africa’s leading and Grammy-winning act Wizkid, contributing to negotiating agreements connected to Grammy-nominated tracks, he also cleared the S2 EP and Morayo Album. He has also led and advised on major brand endorsement deals involving Burna Boy and Ayra Starr for Oraimo and Infinix, respectively, as well as providing legal advisory services on film projects, live events, and marketing campaigns involving brands like Moniepoint, Coca-Cola and Infinix mobile.
He is a Future Awards Africa winner of the Prize for Law (2025) in recognition of his impact and experience within the creative industries. He also practices sports law, providing comprehensive legal support to athletes, scouts, and organisations. He advises on contract negotiations, endorsements, image rights, sponsorship agreements, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that clients’ commercial and legal interests are effectively protected. He prides himself on being very versatile as he has advised on international player transfer deals, music deals, movies and media campaigns, bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to the evolving creative economy. He is known for being approachable but disciplined and detail-driven.
